| This
trip goes round one of the most
beautiful landscapes of Spain.
It´s a top chance of fully
enjoying the charming villages,
vintage and cellars, small castles,
religious art and the best gastronomy
and wine. We start by the river
Ebro and head for the river Duero,
both places hold two of the best
wines in the world: "Rioja
and Ribera de Duero".
You´re planned to pedal
on quiet vintage roads, Relax
in unique lodges and taste unforgettable
wine and food. , You´ll
be put up in the best accomodation
facilities, charming hotels
and top class lodges. We'll
drive in our vans as far as
reaching the starting points
of the most important and interesting
areas. We'll bike in the morning,
have lunch together and afterwards
we'll head to the hotel. afternoons
and evenings are free.

Day
1 Haro (RIOJA)
Pick-up at the airport and
transfer by van (4 hours)
stopping over in Burgos
to visit its breathtaking
cathedral Once in the hotel,
first briefing, delivery
of documentation and picking
up bicycles.
Haro, head village of
north Rioja, was preffered
place for settlement to
many knights and nobility
who left numerous small
palaces and mansions.
It´s packed with
cellars. You can find
there the "Museo
del vino de Rioja".
Our Hotel is fully central,
it was monastery of Agustines
and combine the ancient
good taste with a four
star hotel. |

Day
2 Haro (RIOJA)
After
breakfast we'll head with
our van for the lovely town
of La Guardia, the fortified
and medieval capital of
the Rioja alavesa, from
which we start pedalling
to the most beautiful villages
of Rioja, all the way down
to river Ebro. Both design
and antique cellars, vintage
and quiet roads meet us
on our way to Haro. We'll
have lunch in a lovely winery
with one of the oldest cellar.
La Guardia, a medieval town
Hill match your eye, it
stands perched high, still
ringed in part by ramparts,
towers and fortified getaways.
We can have lunch in one
of the oldest winery in
a monastery with a country
house, a necropolis and
a 13C. hermitage. |

Day
3 Covarrubias (BURGOS)
After
breakfast we will be leaving
to follow Santiago’s
Way towards Nájera.
We proceed to San Millán
de la Cogolla to visit the
renowned monasteries where
the first manuscripts written
in Castilian appeared. After
lunch we go by minibus passing
through the Cameros region
to Covarrubias for supper
and overnight stay at the
hotel.
Covarrubias is a well-restored
and conserved ensemble of
popular architecture, where
a villa houses the remains
of Count Fernán Gonzalez,
founder of Castile. |

Day
4 Peñaranda de Duero
(BURGOS)
We
will ride towards Sto. Domingo
de Silos to visit its unique
monastery, and then continue
towards the Yecla pass,
continuing on to Caleruega.
In some kilometers more,
we arrive at the hotel in
Penaranda where we will
dine and spend the night.
Peñaranda is a small
and peaceful village located
on the banks of a river.
We can visit the nearby
village of Aranda de Duero
to look at the picturesque
main square and where we
can savour typical “tapas”
and the local wines in its
many bars and cellars.
Santo Domingo de Silos is
famous for its monastery
and precious romanesque
cloister. A place for the
renowned Gregorian chants. |

Day
5 VALLADOLID
We
will ride to the monastery
of the vine. After Aranda
we commence our cycling
route, passing through the
vineyards on the banks of
the river Duero. We can
stop at a few (bodegas)
wine cellars in Ora, and
arrive in Peñafiel
after lunch. Then van transfer
to Valladolid.
Peñafiel the central
point of the Ribera del
Duero in Valladolid. It
has one of the finest castles
in Spain and a very typical
main square.
Valladolid is the capital
of the community of Castile
and Leon and it has many
monuments and museum. Our
hotel near to main square
is the perfect place to
walk around. |

Day
6 SEGOVIA
Van transfer to the city
of Segovia, one of the more
pintoresque cities and a
human heritage city. We
will ride by the walls,
the river around the city
and we could pass under
its roman aqueduct, one
of the best of the world.
Time free to see the Cathedral
and the fortress. |

7 MADRID
Transfer to Madrid airport
or to the hotels in Madrid.
If you choose to book extra
nights in Madrid, we include
a city tour by bike. |
