From Madrid to Beijing by bike
A resident of Madrid wanted to embark upon a
sporting-cultural journey, taking advantage of the upcoming
Olympic Games in Pekin in August 2008. The
name of the Project is Carabancheltobeijing08, concept of David
Barrionuevo of 32 years.

Second Catalan Congress of the bicycle – Catalan de
la Bicicleta
The congress will consist
of an international conference which, in this occasion will
be dedicated to a subject rarely touched upon in international
forums, ‘Police and Bicycles’. In this forum we
will learn of the police forces’ experiences with regards
to bicycle use and their tasks regarding the application of
the laws (see more).

New website to promote bicycle use
The council of Gipuzkoa has introduced
a new website to promote the use of the bicycle as a means
of transport..

Postal Services incorporate electric bicycles into their fleet
of postal delivery vehicles
The Spanish Postal Services have incorporated
the fist electric bicycles into their fleet of postal delivery
vehicles. These bicycles will be used in the older, protected
parts of the cities and in pedestrian zones. The 9 bicycles
that will take part in the trial period will start in Madrid
and Zaragoza.
Alberto Contador will judge La Vuelta in the area of Castilla
and Leon, also, the 2008 Giro.
Alberto
Contador will judge, for the second year in a row, the Vuelta
in Castilla and Leon, with the final location being Riaño,
Leon. Also, he is the great winner in the Giro of Italy. Unfortunately,
his team will not participate in the Tour of France.
